Mission3-D Asia Ltd., a subsidiary of Mission3-D headquarters, New Hampshire, USA, is a stand alone company that helps to continue and extend the corporate business into the Asia market. Mission3-D’s flagship product is Photo3-D™,
which gives consumers and photographers the ability to capture,
create and share eye-popping 3-D images.
Founded by Sam Ramada, an avid photographer
and the inventor of Photo3-D, Mission3-D was formed to design and
sell the hardware and software necessary to provide general consumers,
photography enthusiasts and hobbyists with the ability to easily
take and view amazing 3-D stereo photographs.
In 1890, viewing stereo photographs was the
most popular form of entertainment. Much like TV today, back then
nearly every home had a stereoscope, which is a hand-held viewer
necessary to see stereo photographs in 3-D. In the late 1940’s
the Realist 3-D camera was introduced, and Dwight Eisenhower was
known as an avid 3-D photographer. With the introduction of new
technology such as Kodachrome and inexpensive personal cameras,
3-D photography became cost prohibitive, and consumers moved away
from 3-D photography. The introduction of Instamatic and Polaroid
cameras relegated 3-D photography to a small group of hobbyists
maintaining antique viewers and cameras, or to big budget 3-D movies
like IMAX and
Spy Kids 3-D.
With the runaway success and popularity of
digital cameras, as well as low-cost scanners to digitize 35mm and
SLR images, the technical roadblocks to consumer 3-D photography
no longer exist. After a substantial investment in research and
development, Mission3-D has overcome the usability and marketability
obstacles that have blocked the adoption of 3-D photography in the
home.
The end result of this research and development effort is the Photo3-D
303 Kit, a unique, patent-pending product that provides everything
you need to capture, create and share 3-D photos using any digital
camera.
The Photo3-D 303 kit combines a universal
camera attachment that mounts to any camera using the standard tripod
socket (which the vast majority of cameras have) and simple-to-use
3-D mixing software that is easy enough for even the most non-technical
